Who is Rain?

The answer to the question ‘Who am I?’ changes because it reflects my journey of becoming my authentic self – a journey of remembering me. The next time you meet me, I may introduce myself differently.

Recently, I came across the quote, ‘You’ve been somebody long enough. You spent the first half of your life becoming somebody. Now you can work on becoming nobody, which is really somebody. For when you become nobody, there is no tension, no pretense, no one trying to be anyone or anything. The natural state of the mind shines through unobstructed – and the natural state of the mind is pure love.’ – Ram Dass.

This really resonated with me, as I have gone from being a nobody and wanting to be somebody (as defined by our worldview) to realizing that I can be happy being a nobody and serving from this state.

So, who is Rain?

The word that comes to mind is nature. This may seem cliche because of my name, however, we are all part of nature and I have come to understand this on a deeper level now. I am grateful to have learned skills in many areas, such as coaching, facilitation, entrepreneurship, healing, spiritual direction, writing, speaking, serving on global associations, and more. I have also learned through experience how to be a mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend. Now, I see myself as a part of our planet and universe, or rather, consciousness.

Nature is always growing, and this is true for me as well as I continue to live on this planet. Every being on this planet is related to me. When I look into your eyes, I see you, myself, and all of us.

In short, I am a relative of yours who remembers the beauty of our shared existence on this planet/universe and is grateful for our connection beyond this physical form. We exist because of consciousness, and therefore, we are all connected and one.
